Elopement in the San Juan Mountains

Snowy Silverton Elopement

A quiet, snowy morning in the San Juans. The perfect start to any elopement.

Liberty + Cass pulled up, giddy as could be. Recent transplants from Texas, they couldn’t believe how lucky they were to have woken up to the first snow fall of the year on their wedding day.

They began to hike around the lake. Hand in hand, bundled up, still in awe. We arrived at the ceremony location. They stood far apart from each other, soaking it all in, gazing at each other. They each took one more glance, a deep breath, and they began to read their vows to one another. It was pure magic.

After the ceremony, Cass’s dad pulled out his guitar. I think we all cried as he began to sing them a wedding song. We haven’t felt anything quite like that. A meaningful moment in a landscape so beautiful, so quiet, and so massive.

The San Juan Mountains are one of those places that we will simply never get over. Each season, each day, each moment so drastically different. That feeling of watching your couples deepen their love in your favorite place - is there anything else more beautiful? Liberty + Cass committed their hearts together right there, with the snowy peaks as their witness.
